MOUNT VERNON — Jefferson County pet owners will have an opportunity later this month to get their furry pals vaccinated and more for free.

According to Kelly Stephenson-Peterman with Poodles to Hounds in Mt. Vernon, they’re holding their annual free vaccine clinic starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at 730 E. Highway 15 until they run out of supplies.

Last year the dog day care center provided well over 100 free pet vaccines and they hope to do even more this year.

Owners can not only get free rabies shots for their pets, but also puppy shots and microchips. Dr. Wendy Probst will be on hand to administer shots.

Donations are accepted, but are not required. Poodles to Hounds provides this service to help pet owners who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford the care.
