The effort is still on to meet the 100,000 Pounds Challenge to Fight Food Insecurity and everyone in the community is urged to join in the effort.
Chair of the Angels on Assignment Committee Lynn Lenker, City Councilman Donte Moore and former Mt. Vernon Mayor David Keen are still leading the local challenge to fight against hunger.
Councilman Moore earlier this month urged the community to step up and donate food to the cause.
While there are numerous locations accepting donation drop-offs, Angels on Assignment will be available for drop-offs at 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m., Tuesday, at 12th and Broadway in Mt. Vernon.
