CENTRALIA — Consumers who had pre-need funeral arrangements with the now-closed Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home are being guided by the Illinois Comptroller’s Office to contact a local licensed pre-need funeral provider.

According to the Comptroller’s Office PLACE division, Hugh and Leslie Moran chose Macz Funeral Homes to take those records with concurrence from the Comptroller’s Office.

Macz Funeral Home mailed letters in March, April and May to the families informing them that their pre-need funeral records were being held at Macz Funeral Homes and to contact Tom or Traci Macz for help in transferring their pre-need funeral contract to Macz Funeral Homes or a different licensed pre-need funeral providers of their choice.

Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home was closed earlier this year after unsanitary conditions were reportedly found at the Centralia business. Hugh Moran then subsequently surrendered his funeral director’s license.

Consumers who would like more information about their rights under the pre-need funeral contract can call the hotline at 1-877-203-3401 or email them at PLACE@illinoiscomproller.gov or contact Macz Funeral Homes at 618-532-5511 for assistance.
