Luetta  “Lou” Rae Roberson, 76, of Dix, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 pm April 26, 2025 at her home. She was born June 11, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late James Raymond and Helen Iola (Worthen) Harrell. Lou  married Rickey Roberson on July 22, 1967.

In addition to her beloved husband, Lou is survived by her son, Rickey Roberson, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Mount Vernon; daughter, Stacey Belcher and significant other, Jamey Dickerson of Dix; grandchildren, Courtney Roberson, Jacob Roberson, Ashley Crane and significant other, Patrick Nix, Carlin Depew and wife, Amanda, Logan White and wife, Trinity, Casey White and wife, Kenna, and Savana White; and great-grandchildren, Ivy, William, Kylee, Payton, Trinity, Bailey, and Braxton.

In addition to her parents, Lou was preceded in death by her parents-in-law.

Lou was a homemaker, but also worked at Mount Vernon Neon Sign Company and Hawkins Orchard. She enjoyed planning parties, especially themed parties. Lou loved to bake and cook, in general. She enjoyed collecting bunny rabbit figurines and watching the Saint Louis Cardinals. She loved people and never met a stranger. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Greeting of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
