Don was a very special person. He loved among many things, music. He had a “Golden” singing voice. He was always willing to do so when asked by the family when a loved one passed. He had music degrees – several – and once was required to sing in Italian for one of them. He loves flowers and continually took pleasure in his flower garden. He was the “Keeper” of flowers and shrubs at Logan Street Baptist Church where he and Helen attended regularly and met one morning each week with those who had a part in doing the various things it takes to keep the church looking inviting. He always looked forward to doughnuts and coffee and fellowship Wednesday mornings. His son Todd spoke recently on a mission trip to Africa and gave a devotion on and prayer time always. He loved golf and played regularly until failing health. He adored his family and he and Helen traveling especially to Arizona. He noted that the church was in need of a new piano. Soon he gave them one in memory of “Angie” his favorite accompanist. Everyone prayed that God would give us a miracle and heal Don. On his 87th birthday morning he received his miracle which was the best gift ever. He was in the arms of Jesus!
