
Dolores Mae Deadmond, age 99 of Odin, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at her home.
Dolores was born on May 4, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Pauline Morrison, and was then soon adopted as an infant by Leonard and Gertrude (Helm) Ainscough. She first married Willard Eugene “Gene” Wright, who passed away at a young age. Together they had three sons: Ron, Jerry, and Chuck Wright. She later married William H. “Bill” Tockstein, and they were blessed with two sons, Ed and Mark Tockstein, though they eventually divorced. Dolores later married Robert Jay “Bob” Deadmond, who preceded her in death on February 15, 2013.
Survivors include her sons, Ron Wright and wife Vicki of Alton, Jerry Wright and wife Terry of Little Rock, Arkansas, Chuck Wright and wife Vicki of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ed Tockstein and wife Lisa of Centralia; and Mark Tockstein of Odin and his former spouse, Deana Tockstein of Springerton; stepdaughters, Kay Moore and husband Bob of Odin, and Lori Webb and husband Michael of Mascoutah, as well as 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and special friends, Nancy Stallard, Sondra Jenkins, and Larry Hollenberg.
She was also preceded in death by her mother Pauline Morrison, her parents, Leonard and Gertrude Ainscough; her sister, Martha Neudecker; and a special friend, Violet Hollenberg.
Dolores grew up as a child in the Centralia area and also Marine, Illinois, as her father was a Free Methodist Pastor in various towns around Southern Illinois.
Dolores was lastly a devoted member of Odin First Baptist Church where she spent many years teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir and many specials, volunteered for funeral dinners & the Clothes Pantry and was loved by everyone she met. Dolores lived her life in serving others. She loved cooking for her family and grandchildren, enjoyed playing dominoes and doing word search in her later years.
As a lifelong homemaker, she also worked at Basler Electric in Highland, Littlefuse in Centralia and later worked the cafeteria register at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Funeral services for Dolores M. Deadmond will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Roger Lipe officiating. Burial will follow at Deadmond Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
