MT. VERNON – The final week for leaf burning this year in Mt. Vernon begins Monday.

Burning is allowed from sunrise to sunset and must be attended by an adult until the fire is out.

Burning is not allowed on streets, sidewalks, drainage ditches or on someone else’s property.

Burning may be stopped at any time if conditions are dry, windy or unsafe as determined by the fire chief.
