Larry Hugh Qualls age 84 of Salem, IL passed away Monday, November 17th after an extended illness.

Larry worked in Sales and Marketing at Stanford, INC in Salem for over 35 years. He left in 1996 to pursue his true passion full time, fishing and cutting-edge fishing gear. Larry and his family owned and operated Qualls Rod, Reel & Trolling Motor Service until his retirement in 2023. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Larry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Paula M. Moore Qualls, his daughter, Kristin (Douglas) Miller of Salem, IL; his grandchildren, Lorenzo O. Qualls of Highland, IL, Andrew T. (Amberle) Qualls of Highland, IL, Kimberly A. (Chad) Rakers of Beckemeyer, IL, Dylan W. Miller of Salem, IL, and Kayla M. Miller of Ballwin, MO; his cherished great-grandchildren, Kaydence Hempker, Sydney Rakers, Hailynn Rakers, and Hudson Qualls; and siblings, Debbie Woodford, Theresa Walls, Kenneth Qualls, and Charles Qualls.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter W. Qualls of Salem, IL and Lois (Weatherly) Birch of CA; his son, Hugh Brent Qualls; and his siblings, Lois Ann Clap, Karen Van Curine, Greg Qualls, Walter Qualls, Sam Birch, and Elizabeth “Polly” Johnston. Larry attended Freedom Church.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, November 20, 2025.  A time to visit with family will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.  Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Salem High School Fishing Team and can be received at the funeral home.  Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
