MT. VERNON – Mt. Vernon Festivals, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Jefferson County Citizen of the Year, Pastor Kent Jackson, of Family Life Church and Shelter has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 A Magical Mt. Vernon Christmas Parade, to be held this Saturday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. in downtown Mt. Vernon.

Pastor Jackson has served as Pastor of Family Life Church and Shelter for 13 years, during which he has become a respected and compassionate leader throughout the community. He is also a devoted husband to Julie Jackson and father to three daughters. He was announced in February 2025 as the Jefferson County Citizen of the Year by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.

Throughout his years of ministry, Jackson has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving Mt. Vernon with compassion, empathy, and unwavering faith. His passion for reaching the community with the love of Jesus is seen daily in the way he cares for individuals and families in need, offering support, guidance, and encouragement. His leadership at Family Life Church and Shelter has impacted countless lives and strengthened the community as a whole.

The A Magical Mt. Vernon Christmas Parade is a cherished annual tradition featuring festive floats, local organizations, performers, and of course—an appearance by Santa Claus. Community members are invited to gather downtown to enjoy the parade and celebrate the season together.
