The Illinois State Police out of DuQuoin reports a multiple vehicle accident involved a Nashville resident.  It occurred on Route 13 at Route 148 in Williamson County, yesterday at 3:45 PM.  Preliminary investigative details indicate a vehicle driven by a 16-year old juvenile from Marion, was traveling east on Route 13 approaching a red light at the intersection with Route 148.  The car driven by a 23-year old female from Nashville and a car driven by a 69-year old female from Hurst, were side by side in the left hand turn lane on Route 148 northbound waiting to turn left onto Route 13 to go west.  When the traffic light displayed a green left hand turn arrow for the cars, both vehicles began to make a left hand turn onto Route 13 westbound.  The juvenile was traveling east on Route 13 failed to stop and ran through the eastbound red light, striking the front end of both the other cars.  The impact caused all three vehicles to become disabled in the middle of the intersection, thus causing traffic flow to become backed up in all directions.  The juvenile was uninjured, but was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.  Both females were transported to a regional hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The ISP usually do not release the names of those not charged in an accident.
