According to court documents, a 24-year old Okawville man was captured on an observation camera, damaging property of the Washington County Jail, where he has been held on unrelated charges since July. Phillip W. Law is now facing an additional felony charge, this being Criminal Damage to Government Property.  He was being held in the Washington County Jail on a charge of Home Invasion Causing Injury, two counts of Armed Robbery, Residential Burglary, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Trespass to a Residence when a Person is Present and a misdemeanor Carrying a Knife with Intent of Criminal Use.  According to Okawville Police Chief Steve Milken, Law is accused of an Easter weekend home invasion in the Washington Springs Mobile Home Park, in which two individuals inside the home suffered head injuries.  As reported earlier this year, the two men were airlifted to Saint Louis University Hospital for treatment of the head injuries, while it was rumored at that time to have been caused by some type of hammer.  They were released the same day.  Law remained free while Okawville Police investigated the Easter morning incident, with police ultimately taking him into custody the 4th of July weekend.  Bond for Law was previously set at $75,000.  He remains in custody of the Washington County Jail.  He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has demanded a jury trial.
