The Illinois State Police said Friday that it issued 91,651 concealed-carry gun permits to Illinois residents last year. The state in 2013 became the last state in the nation to sign off on allowing concealed carry, and 2014 was the first year they were issued. There are 162 active permits in Washington County, 351 in Clinton County, 652 in Jefferson County, 525 in Marion County, 288 in Perry County and 2,642 in Saint Clair County, in the top ten in the state. There were no denials in Washington County, but there were 8 in Clinton County, 7 in both Jefferson and Marion Counties, 2 in Perry County and 86 in Saint Clair County. No concealed-carry gun permits were revoked in Washington and Clinton Counties, but 5 were revoked in Jefferson County, 2 each in Marion and Perry Counties and 4 in Saint Clair County.
