The Washington County Sheriff’s Department was busy this past week, as they responded to some accidents, but also received a report of criminal trespass to a vehicle in Richview, assisted the Tilden Police Department on an incident on Honeysuckle Road, west of Route 13, assisted DCFS with an investigation in Irvington, took a complaint of suspicious activity from a resident in rural Okawville, responded to a report of burglary to a vehicle in Richview, responded to a report of burglary to a residence in Ashley, received a complaint of A.T.V.s on the roadway in rural Centralia and took a report of retail theft from Kemp’s Corner in New Minden.  They initiated a traffic stop on Monday and arrested 38-year old Nicolas Rodriguez of Centralia for No Valid Driver’s License and cited him for Operating a Vehicle with Only One Red Taillight.  There was a 2-vehicle crash on last Wednesday on Route 127, approximately 150 feet north of Pierce Road, south of Nashville, as a car driven by 21-year old Seth A. Baxter of Pinckneyville crashed into the rear of a car driven by 43-year old Andrew S. Lingle of Pinckneyville.  All involved refused medical treatment and no citations were issued.  On Sunday, there was a deer versus car accident on Oakdale Blacktop, as 65-year old Diane Brierly of Freeburg was heading west, when she struck a deer.  No report of any injuries.  Deputies also assisted the Nashville Police on Monday with an accident on Route 127 at Holzhauer’s Auto Mall.
