The Nashville Police Department responded to 14 calls in the past week, as well as assisting the Illinois State Police and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on several calls to assist motorists in the snow.  Calls included a verbal dispute, a violation of an Order of Protection, a report of a fraudulent check, illegally parked vehicles, a domestic dispute, a welfare check on a driver slumped over at the wheel on the parking lot at Circle K, as well as a report of theft on the 500 block of Goodner.  They also assisted in the arrest of 33-year old Michael D. Nicholson of West Plains, Missouri in relation to a child custody abduction.  Nashville Police Chief Brian Fletcher says they received a call that Nicholson was in Missouri with the child and would not return the child to the mother in Nashville, as she has custody rights.  A warrant was issued and Nicholson was picked up by the West Plains Police Department.  The child was returned to Nashville.  The name of the mother and child are not being released.
