The election is over and as expected, voter turnout was very low in Washington County.  Only 1,394 people out of 9,948 registered voters cast their votes yesterday for 14 percent.  In Nashville, the 3 people elected to the City Council are Terry Kozuszek with 30 percent of the vote, David Eric Rolf with 29 percent and Dennis Kellerman with 24 percent.  For the Ashley Council, Linda Gammon got 21 percent of the vote, while James Turner got 17 percent and there was a tie for the final 2 spots between Leslie Jones and Leonard Piasecki with 15 percent of the votes.  For the Hoyleton Board, Frank Tomasek received 29 percent, Joshua Holle got 24 percent and Raymond Caplinger got 22 percent of the vote for the 3 spots.  For the West Washington Unit 10 School Board of Education, Paul Jansen got 29 percent of the vote, while Ronald Recker got 26 percent and Dennis Lintker got 23 percent to fill the 3 spots open.  Many people in Washington County voted for the Centralia High School Board of Education and overall, Keith Kessler had 1,415 votes, followed by Galen Mahle with 1,191 votes, 1,072 for Rod Snow and the final spot went to Larry James with 977 votes.  In Washington County, the order of votes was Mahle, Kessler, Snow and Darren Dunahee, but he did not make the Board overall.  There were some write-in winners also.  For the Ashley Grade School Board of Education, Andy Rynski received 4 votes to get in, while for the Nashville High School Board, Tom Speedie received 115 write-in votes and John Hallock got 101 votes, so both get elected.  For the Hoyleton Grade School Board of Education, there was a tie for the one position for the unexpired 2-year term with 2 votes each for Charlene Herrmann and Brooke Kehn, while for the full 4-year term, Lester Kretzer II received 11 votes, while Lisa Ferrell and Mark Habeck each got 8 votes, as those three are elected.  Meanwhile, for an alderman position for the Village of DuBois, no one voted for Wallace Waldman for the one vacant spot.  Some of these can change, as absentee ballots can still come in the next week or so.  For full election results, go to Illinois.platinumelectionresults.com and choose the county you want to know more about.
