The Nashville Police Department was very busy again this past week, including another 4 reports of IRS scams.  The reports have the caller falsely representing that he or she is with the IRS and demands money for unpaid taxes, claiming the potential victim will be arrested if they don’t pay the caller.  Authorities remind residents not to give the caller any personal information and not to give them a payment of any kind.  These calls are not from the IRS, as the IRS will never call demanding money immediately, demand payment by credit card over the phone, or threaten to have your arrested or involve local police.  This scam has been going on for most of the year and it will keep going, so beware of this scam.  On Thursday, they responded to a hit and run accident at Casey’s and also responded to a vehicle in a ditch on Mockingbird Road on Saturday.
