The Nashville High School Olympiad team had a wonderful year as both teams advanced out of the regional, sectionals and to the state finals, while placing 2^nd and 3^rd at the state competition this month.  Team sponsor and NCHS teacher, Haeli Williamson says, “We sometimes take for granted that these students continually qualify without realizing what a huge accomplishment this is.  We are competing in a one class system with some private and science – technical schools and public schools 3 or 4 times our size.”  Qualifying for state with 1^st place finishes at the regional and sectional levels and placing 2^nd at the state competition was the team of: Aaron Czajkowski, Madison Frerker, Kelsie Klingenberg and Tyler Williamson.  Also qualifying for state with a 2^nd place finish at the regional, 3^rd place at sectionals, and 3^rd place at the state competition was the team of Alli Kellerman, Alex Orr, Alyssa Lohmann and Mackenzie Wells.  There were 14 teams competing from as far as north of Chicago, as well as some schools from Missouri.  Olympiad is based on hands-on competitions in the areas of math, science, English and world languages, music, and engineering combined with creativity and art.
