The Washington County Board met Tuesday night and went through several reports that they approved. The Ambulance and Rescue Service responded to 144 calls in May after 4 months of declines. There were 135 calls in April, and 993 for the year. That’s an average of 165 calls per month for this year. The County Clerk & Recorder Office offers several services for a fee to residents of the county and other outside agencies, such as certified birth certificates, licenses and recording fees. In May, they had revenues of $38,158.21 from these fees and tax redemptions and stamps, which is nearly $2,000 more than in April, almost an identical increase as the month before that. The Sheriff’s report showed 21 arrests for May, up from the 18 arrests for April. Deputies issued only 28 traffic tickets, down significantly from the 46 traffic tickets in April. They issued only 30 warnings in May, also down significantly from the 52 warnings the previous month.
