The Mount Vernon Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect in a Friday afternoon bank robbery. According to police, around 2 PM Friday, police were called to the Old National Bank at 400 South 34th Street for an armed robbery. Investigators say a male held up the bank around 1:15 PM and the bank has been closed since. The suspect is reported to have taken an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 35 and 50, approximately 6-feet 6-inches tall, wearing a navy blue T-shirt and jeans.
