The number of animals that need homes that are at the Washington County Animal Shelter increased significantly in the past week.  One dog found a home and 2 dogs were brought in, so the number of dogs is at 6.  This includes a terrier mix and shepherd mix.  There are now 2 cats and 7 kittens available this week.  So there are 15 animals at the shelter that need homes, nearly double last week’s total.  Dog adoption fee is $30, which includes an A.V.I.D. Identification Chip.  In addition, new owners will receive a certificate for $50 off spaying or neutering.  Pictures are available online at www.petfinder.com and type in 62263 at the first space in the upper left.  The shelter also is a place to drop off aluminum cans for recycling.  They then use the money from this to help pay for expenses of housing the cats and dogs.  It is located at 17,990 Richview Road in Nashville.  For more information, call 327-4800, extension 355.
