Kaskaskia College has announced the Athletic Hall of Fame inductees for 2014, which will feature Nashville’s Cheryl Galassini Harre.
The ceremony will be on Saturday, February 8th. Harre attended Kaskaskia College from 1983 to 1985 and was a three sport athlete playing tennis, softball and basketball. In 1984, she was a member of the women’s tennis team which placed third at the Lincoln Land Invitational and fourth at the Region 24 Tournament. Harre also won her Individual Region 24 flight and was selected to the Region 24 all-Tournament First Team. She also pitched and played outfield for the 1984 Blue Angels Softball Team. This team advanced to the state finals that year. This may also explain Wayne and Jordi’s current success. The 2013 class also includes the 1981-82 Men’s Baseball Team, former baseball players Wayne Astrauskas, Robert Hight, Joe Petrea and Jon Behrens and former softball player Keli Lunn. The ceremony will take place in the Lifelong Learning Center.
