The Washington County Sheriff’s Department assisted 3 motorists and responded to a couple of accidents in the past week. One accident was last Wednesday evening on County Highway 21 near South Grand Avenue, as a vehicle driven by Leigh Cloude of Oakdale struck a deer with her vehicle. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Washington County Hospital for treatment of injuries. On Thursday, deputies responded to an accident on Pleasant Hill Road, as 18-year old Brianna N. Gramer of Venedy was traveling south, when she lost control of her vehicle, causing it to go off the road and into a field. She was transported to Washington County Hospital for treatment of injuries. There was no mention of any citations issued in either accident. The Nashville Police Department responded to a few accidents in the past week also. Last Monday afternoon, they responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of South Community Avenue and East Gym Street, as a vehicle driven by a female of Nashville hit a vehicle driven by a male of Ashley. There were no injuries and no mention of any citations being issued. Late Wednesday morning, they went to an accident on North Mill Street, just north of East Saint Louis Street as a semi-tractor trailer truck driven by Mark Eddleman of Dongola struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Joseph Zueck of Carbondale. There were no injuries and no mention of any citations issued. On Sunday, they responded to a crash on West High Street near South Grand Avenue, as a vehicle driven by Ryan Harmening of Nashville struck a parked vehicle. There was no mention of any injuries or citations issued.
