The Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees met last night and approved a resolution to authorize the College to proceed with the bidding process for the south roadway bridge repairs as funded through Protection, Health and Safety funds.  This resolution is contingent on assurance from the engineers as to final costs.  The Board approved the College to proceed with construction documents and the bidding process for the Learning Resource Center or Library Ceiling Asbestos Abatement as funded through Protection, Health and Safety tax levy funds.  The Board approved a resolution to accept the donation of a Side-By-Side Vehicle for the Agriculture Program.  The 2016 Kawasaki Mule was donated by Ron Huels of Huels Oil in Carlyle and the vehicle will be used in the instruction process and will contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the program.  After thorough review and analysis, the College administration is recommending a Voluntary Faculty Early Retirement Incentive Plan, whereby full-time faculty members who qualify for the plan would receive a financial incentive for retiring.  Such Plan would result in significant cost savings over the next several years.  In personnel action, the Board approved the retirement of Art Borum, Director of Industrial and Continuing Education and also approved the resignation of Eric Kelly, Programmer.  The Board also approved the hiring of Judy Hemker of Bartelso as the new Controller.
