There was another high-speed chase this weekend that raced through Centralia and ended just before 8 o’clock last night, when the suspected vehicle reportedly crashed at Blackberry Run and Route 161.  Speeds reportedly reached more than 100 miles per hour on Route 161 before the driver crashed at Blackberry Run.  It is unclear if any other vehicles or occupants were involved or the extent of injuries suffered, however, the as of now unnamed suspect was airlifted to Saint Louis.  Marion County Sheriff’s deputies and Centralia police subsequently responded to the Emergency Room.  The reason for the chase is unclear and no other details are available at this time.  Central City and Wamac police were assisting with traffic as it was detoured around the scene while the incident was investigated.  We’ll have more information as it becomes available on this story from our sister station WILY-WRXX in Centralia.
