Besides the 4 accidents the Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to, they answered other calls.  Last Tuesday, they responded to the Hoyleton Youth and Family Service Children’s Home for a missing person and responded to the report of 4-wheelers on the roadway in rural Addieville.  On Wednesday, they took a report of suspicious activity near a residence on Elkton Road and also in Irvington, and returned a phone call to a resident of Ashley regarding visitation rights and child custody.  On Thursday, deputies responded to Grandma’s Kitchen in Irvington for suspicious activity.  On Christmas Day, they took a report of a child custody dispute in rural Centralia and responded to a report of cattle along the road on County Highway 27 near Route 177.  On Saturday, they reported to Locust Creek Road for flooding and to check if the roadway – bridge was washed out.  The Pilot Knob Road Commissioner was informed of the possible damage and signs were placed there warning motorists not to drive into the flooded area.
