The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to 4 accidents in the past week. One week ago, there was an accident on DuBois Blacktop Road, as 18-year old Austin B. Spotanski of DuBois was traveling east, when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to go off the roadway and strike a ditch. There were no injuries. On Wednesday, deputies responded to an accident on County Highway 12 at Honeysuckle Road, as a vehicle driven by 23-year old Corey P. Hill of Chester, swerved to avoid striking another vehicle, which caused his vehicle to strike a ditch and overturn. There were no injuries reported and no citations mentioned. Then on Christmas, there was an accident on Route 15 near County Highway 27 and there was no report of any injuries, but 21-year old Kenya L. Cortez of Rensslear, Indiana was cited for operating a vehicle in violation to her instructional permit. On Saturday, deputies assisted the Illinois State Police with a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 64 in the eastbound lanes near mile post 52. The Nashville Police Department did not report any accidents.
