The Nashville Police Department was busy in the past week.  Last Monday, they assisted the Okawville Police with a vehicle that was not stopping on Interstate 64, responded to Memorial Park for suspicious activity and at night assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with a K-9 search of a vehicle and the dog indicated something in the vehicle.  This was on Route 127, just south of the interstate.  The vehicle had an expired and revoked registration.  30-year old Clayton N. White of Buncombe was arrested on Operation of a Vehicle with Suspended Registration, Unlawful Display of Plates and Unlawful Possession of Plates.  He was also cited for Operation of a Vehicle with Expired Registration and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Passenger, 30-year old Matthew E. Otten of Belleville was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Penal Institution and Possession of Drug Equipment.  Another passenger, 28-year old Marrisa R. Hood of Metropolis, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Meth and for Marion County warrant.  One week ago, officers responded to an alarm on the 100 block of South Mill Street.  On Wednesday, they initiated a traffic stop just after midnight on East Saint Louis Street at South Hoffman Street and arrested 22-year old Cody Meyer of Walnut Hill for Operation of a Vehicle with an Expired Registration Sticker.  It was reported that Meyer and a passenger were acting nervous, so the K-9 unit was brought in and a check of the vehicle resulted in the finding of illicit drugs.  Meyer allegedly admitted to having cannabis, a pipe and prescription pills of Vicodin and Xanax that were not his, in his possession.  He was also charged with Possession of Cannabis Under 2.5 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The truck was released to the passenger, who did not have any charges.  Also Wednesday, they took a report of attempted identity theft through a social security number address change, initiated a traffic stop and arrested 36-year old Karla George of Tamaroa for Driving While License Expired, responded to the 700 block of South Mill Street for a theft, responded to the 11,700 block of Route 127 for an animal complaint and initiated a traffic stop just before midnight on Route 127, just south of the interstate.  They arrested 31-year old Jeremiah T. Helms of Crewe, Virginia for Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  He was also cited for Failure to Signal and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  On Thursday, they located a missing person on the 700 block of South Mill Street, responded to the 700 block of South Grand Avenue for ministerial alliance and assisted the DCFS with a welfare check at the Village Apartments on the 700 block of South Mill Street.  A child was removed from the home and 19-year old Anthony A. Miller of Florissant, Missouri was arrested for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle.  On Saturday, they responded to the 200 block of North Kaskaskia Street for recovered property, went to the 1300 block of South Mill Street for an alarm, as well as an alarm on the 200 block of West Maple Street, responded to the 600 block of West Chester Street for a suspicious vehicle and went to the 300 block of East Gorman Street for a 911 hang-up call.  On Sunday, the NPD responded to the 800 block of south Mill Street for another 911 hang-up call, went to the 11,700 block of Route 127 for suspicious activity, assisted the Sheriff’s Office with an unruly subject at the jail and took a report of Domestic Battery at night.  38-year old Ryan Sommer of Nashville alleged that his wife, 39-year old Rachel Sommer, also of Nashville, had beaten him and he had injuries to his face.  She was arrested at a residence on the 100 block of East Maple Street, where the battery had occurred.  She was arrested for Domestic Battery, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Equipment.
