Last Wednesday, the Okawville FFA Chapter competed at the Section 22 Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Event. Parliamentary Procedure is a competition where FFA members hold a mock meeting session, where members debate on a main motion, and can complete the following motions: Division of Assembly, Parliamentary Inquiry, Question of Privilege, Lay on the Table, Appeal, Point of Order, Adjourn, Postpone Indefinitely, and Postpone Definitely. Members receive points for each motion made and for the debates made. The Chairperson is judged on how he or she holds the meeting, and the secretary is judged on notes taken, as well as debates and motions made. All team members also complete a test on parliamentary procedure concepts. Competing as Chairperson was Allyson Lintker who placed 3rd against other chairpersons. Mallory Unverfehrt served as secretary. Hannah Liske served as a floor member and placed 8th. The team placed 6th in Section 22. Waterloo won the competition. The Novice team, which is made up of freshmen members only, placed 3rd in the Novice competition. Waterloo also won the Novice competition.
