The Nashville Memorial Park Board of Directors met Monday night and President Steve Fletcher says they approved of spending $7,400 with Matecki Masonry of the Nashville area on the bathhouse at the pool.  He talked about what this included, such as the backside of the bathhouse, block work, removing 2 walls and replacing them in a different location, some maintenance, tuck-pointing, fixing cracks and things like that.  They would like to have all the work done by May 10th, but have to work when the weather allows them the time.  They also have more work they want done to it, including the roof of the bathhouse.  They will be meeting with the engineer soon to go over the roof and the plumbing and electricity to decide what exactly needs to be done to make it last another 20 to 25 years, at least.  In a related topic, the Board approved of $7,673 with J & R Appliances on phase 3 of the electric project at the park to get the overhead wires taken down and power cables run through the ground, especially at the ball diamonds.  This phase includes running power back up from the ball diamonds to the park building and the tennis courts.  After that, Illinois Power can come in and take down the overhead wires and poles.  Upcoming events approved of at Memorial Park include Walk with the Dogs, the Easter Egg Hunt and Mai Fest.  The next meeting is on Tuesday, March 1st at 7 PM.
