A new year and finally some snow falls in Washington County.  The precipitation report for Washington County by the City of Nashville Water Plant, showed 2 inches of snow fell on January 20th with trace amount on two other dates.  This was the first recordable snowfall since March of last year.  There was just .1 inches of snow last January.  After heavy rain of nearly 14.5 inches in November and December last year, there was only .95 inches in January with .43 inches on January 10th.  That’s the least amount of rain in a month since July of 2014 with .6 inches of rain.  Last January there were 1.68 inches of rain.  High temperatures were mostly in the 30s, but there were several days in the 50s, and the high temperature was 64 degrees on January 31st.  Low temperatures were mostly in the 20s, with the lowest of 5 degrees on January 18th.  In January 2015, the high was 53 and the low was negative 3 degrees.  The average high temperature last month was 37.9 degrees, down just over 14 degrees from December, even if it felt warmer towards the end of last month.  The average low temperature last month was at 22 degrees, down 16 degrees from the previous month.
