Jacob Purcell has filed nominating petitions and is announcing his candidacy for Regional Superintendent of Schools in Clinton, Jefferson, Marion, and Washington Counties.  Purcell will be running as a Republican candidate for Regional Office of Education #13 in the March 18^th General Primary Election.  Purcell is currently an administrator for Kaskaskia Special Education District #801 which is the special education cooperative serving school districts in Clinton, Marion, and Washington Counties.  Purcell will face fellow Republican candidate Ron Daniels in the March 18^th, 2014 General Primary Election.  Daniels in currently Regional Superintendent of Schools for Regional Office of Education #25, which is being broken-up and consolidated with neighboring regional offices by the Illinois Legislature starting in 2015.  The winner of the March 18^th, 2014 General Primary Election will face Keri Garrett, the current Regional Superintendent of Schools for Regional Office of Education #13, who is running for another term as a Democrat.
