Jacob Purcell has filed nominating petitions and is announcing his candidacy for Regional Superintendent of Schools in Clinton, Jefferson, Marion, and Washington Counties.  Purcell will be running as a Republican candidate for Regional Office of Education #13 in the March 18th General Primary Election.  Purcell is currently an administrator for Kaskaskia Special Education District #801 which is the special education cooperative serving school districts in Clinton, Marion, and Washington Counties.  Purcell will face fellow Republican candidate Ron Daniels in the March 18th, 2014 General Primary Election.  Daniels in currently Regional Superintendent of Schools for Regional Office of Education #25, which is being broken-up and consolidated with neighboring regional offices by the Illinois Legislature starting in 2015.  The winner of the March 18th, 2014 General Primary Election will face Keri Garrett, the current Regional Superintendent of Schools for Regional Office of Education #13, who is running for another term as a Democrat.
