The Nashville Police Department was busy in the past 2 weeks. On February 8th, they conducted an ordinance compliance check on the 500 block of North Mill Street and also initiated a traffic stop at night on Route 127 near IDOT Shed Road, as they stopped a vehicle going south. The driver, 42-year old Tina Brooks of Nashville was arrested for DUI and Endangering the Life of a Child. She was also cited for Improper Lane Usage, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. On Tuesday, February 9th, they assisted the EMS with a call at Holzhauer’s, responded to the 100 block of East Angie Avenue for an animal complaint, went to the 100 block of East Third Street for a 911 hang-up call and assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Department with the K-9 Unit. That Wednesday, officers responded to an alarm on Mockingbird Road, went to the 700 block of North Kaskaskia Street for a 911 hang-up, responded to the 400 block of East Saint Louis Street for a theft, went to the 100 block of East David Drive for a report of telephone harassment, and conducted a welfare check at a residence on the 900 block of South Broadway Street. Then one week ago today, they assisted the WCSO and Okawville Police with a domestic dispute in Addieville. That Friday, they responded to the 7,000 block of Route 127 for a 911 hang-up call, took a report of a violation of a child visitation and responded to the 200 block of East Alton Street for a domestic dispute. Also Friday night, shortly before midnight, there was a call to a residence on the 200 block of East Alton Street that involved a domestic dispute. Allegedly, 29-year old Heath Taylor of Nashville, tried to make entry into the house when the 1st officer arrived on scene and began fighting with the officer. Taylor had used an axe to break the glass out of a rear door to gain entry to the house. He was taken into custody for Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, Obstruction of a Peace Officer and Endangering the Health of a Child. On Sunday, February 14th, the NPD responded to the 400 block of North Short Street for a theft.
