Bail has been set at $10,000 for a 24-year old Centralia man arrested early Monday morning following a high speed chase heading the wrong way on South Poplar Street in Centralia before crashing into a utility pole near Dairy Queen. Ryan Jacklin was formally charged Monday in Marion County Court with Class 4 felony aggravated fleeing through two traffic control devices, and was issued multiple traffic citations, including one for driving while license revoked. According to reports, Jacklin jumped from the passenger door of the car after it crashed into the utility pole and ran from the scene. When he failed to stop, officers fired a Tazer, striking Jacklin in the back and causing him to fall to the ground. He was taken to the Centralia Police Department after complaining of injuries and being transported to SSM Health Saint Mary’s Hospital before being taken to the Marion County Jail upon his discharge. As police inventoried the vehicle prior to it being towed from the crash scene, they reportedly located a box with multiple hypodermic needles, a ski mask and a suitcase full of cell phones. Police continue to investigate how Jacklin came to possess the numerous cell phones. He was arrested for alleged aggravated fleeing police, driving while license revoked, possession of a narcotic instrument and on an outstanding Washington County arrest warrant. He is scheduled for an April 18th jury trial in the Washington County case, where he is facing charges of Class X felony aggravated manufacture of more than 400 grams of methamphetamine in a protected structure, Class 1 felony delivery of between 5 and 15 grams of meth, and Class 3 felony possession of a sawed off shotgun or rifle.
