The Oakdale Grade School Board of Education met Monday night and Superintendent Charles Peterson said enrollment has gone up 1 since the last meeting, so attendance is at 77 students now. Their fundraiser is this Friday at 6:30 PM at Saint Anthony Parish Hall in Oakdale. The Trivia Night will benefit the Oakdale Music Program to repair instruments and purchase new music. For more information, call 329-5292. May 3rd is kindergarten registration and screening. Anyone wanting to get their child registered and screened, need to call the office at 329-5292 to set up an appointment. On May 13th is the Spring Social with it all getting started at 6:30 PM with a concert. The academic and sports awards event is on May 19th to be followed with 8th grade graduation on May 20th. The final day for the rest of the students is May 25th at 11:30 AM. Peterson reported that the purchasing of the 2 propane fueled buses is progressing and they talked about the lettering on the buses, which should be delivered in July. There still has been no decision on where to house the buses, as they are looking at a shed across the street or having them someplace else or building a structure to house them at the school. The propane pump station will be at the school itself. The Board also discussed a walk-behind floor scrubber, but there was no decision, as they are going to have vendors bring some in to try out. Peterson said he shared the results of the district financial profile scoring, as they scored a 3.9 out of 4.0, which earns them Recognition standing. He said one of the contributing factors is that they really don’t have any debt, which many other schools are experiencing.
