The Washington County Board met Tuesday night and they heard from Highway Engineer Mitch Burdick about the bids for oil and bam material, which were approved. He says they paid $1.56 per gallon of oil, down from the $1.90 per gallon last year and he was satisfied with the bid results this year. Don Anderson Company out of Hoyleton won all the oil bids for a total amount of $568,990. He also won a bid for patch material in the amount of $7,850. Moeller Brothers, Incorporated out of Nashville won 4 bids for bituminous material for a total amount of $86,200. Glen D. Snead out of Nashville won 3 bids for bituminous material for a total amount of $68,464.50 and Doelling Truck Service out of Addieville won 2 bids for the materials in the amount of $36,200, while Obermeier Trucking out of Okawville won a bid for bituminous material in the amount of $19,500. There were several re-appointments to various fire district boards or committees, as their terms were ending April 30th, and that includes Dennis Kuhlengel for Addieville, Harry Berger for Ashley, Ed McGee for Centralia, Dr. Shawn Beckmeyer for Coulterville, Curt Kuhlengel for Hoyleton, Kevin Huge for Irvington, Dick Shew and Richard Schuette for Nashville and Wayne Borrenpohl for Okawville Fire District. There were also 3 re-appointments to the Washington County Hospital Board for 4 year terms and that includes Kurt Elliott, William Manier and Matt Bierman. Three people were re-appointed to the Methodist North Prairie Cemetery and that was Kenneth Kleeman, Gary Hake and Helen Dude.
