An accident Friday morning in Perry County resulted in a DuBois man being taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on US Route 51 at Shamrock Road at about 6:20 this morning. Raymond Heatherly of DuQuoin reportedly lost control of his vehicle and struck a vehicle driven by Gregory Zmudzinski, who was driving southbound on Route 51. Zmudzinski suffered minor injuries and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene. The ISP was assisted by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, Tamaroa Fire and Rescue and Ray’s Towing. Heatherly was cited for driving too fast failure for conditions.
