The Washington County Sheriff’s Office handled a series of accidents last week, including a motorist assist on Monday on State Rt. 15 near Nashville. Also on Monday, a deputy assisted the Illinois State Police with a car versus deer traffic crash. On Tuesday, the Nashville Police Department took a report of a two-vehicle accident at Little Nashville. According to the report, Tammy Dial of Ashley backed her vehicle into the rear fender of a vehicle driven by Donald McLaughlin of Irvington. No injuries were reported. Thursday had the Sheriff’s Office taking a report of a one-vehicle accident on State Route 15 in which Sally Evans of Richview ran off the road and into a ditch just east of Ashley. A deputy took a report of a non-injury incident Friday when Jeremy Lohman of Steeleville hit an animal on County Highway 21 near State Route 15. Both the sheriff’s office and Nashville Police responded to the two-vehicle accident on Interstate 64 Saturday that resulted in the death of Dana McSparin. A sheriff’s deputy responded to a one-vehicle accident on County Highway 17 in rural Nashville on Sunday. Erica Tilley of DuQuoin was the driver and did not reported injuries. The passenger, Elizabeth Tilley of DuQuoin, was transported by ambulance for reported back pains. No citations were issued, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
