3. Bail is set for a Centralia resident, in connection to multiple drug offenses, by the Marion County Court. 29-year-old Brendan Heffron of Centralia was arrested late on Saturday night, after a Central City Police Officer attempted to pull him over. The officer, who knew that Heffron had his driver’s license revoked, attempted to pull him over, but Heffron refused to stop. At one point, he was yelling out the window to the officer attempting to ask why the officer was attempting to pull him over. Heffron eventually pulled his vehicle over at the 300 block of South Broadway, where he was taken into custody for allegedly driving with a revoked license, having an outstanding Marion County warrant and multiple drug offenses. Some of those drug charges, which were formally charged on Monday, were Class 3 felony possession of less than 5 grams of meth and a class 4 felony for possession of between 30 to 100 grams of cannabis and having 2 or more prior convictions. He was appointed a public defender and was advised in court of the charges against him and possible penalties if convicted. His court hearing is set for August 8th, with a defense motion to have his bail reduced.
