Kaskaskia College and their Board of Trustees met on Monday, June 26th, in regard to their regular monthly meeting. In connection to their tentative 2018 fiscal year budget, they approved a resolution to make it available for public review by August 24th. That budget will have a public hearing on Monday, September 25th, prior to the board’s regular meeting. That hearing will be done at the Wedekemper Board Room, which is located in the Lifelong Learning Center at the college’s man campus. In other action, the board approved a resolution in renewing employee health insurance coverage for the 2018 fiscal year. The annual license agreement with Microsoft, which helps provide students, staff and faculty the latest versions, was approved on Monday too. That renewal will be for $25,123. Since KC participates in an agreement with other community colleges in purchasing these licenses, the college saw a savings of 12%. The college’s polices for trustee professional development training, fraud awareness, whistleblower protection, students’ rights, students’ responsibilities and student code of conduct, were all approved last night. The 2017 semester will start on Monday, August 14th on the college’s main campus and education centers. Registration applications are still being accepted and will continue for students.
