Southern Illinois University’s chancellor is currently facing two ethics reviews, over complaints that he hired family members to be part of his relocation allotment from the university to help cover costs of his daughter’s move. Reports say that chancellor Carlo Montemagno became the chancellor for Carbondale back in July. His leadership is now being scrutinized, since the school’s local newspaper revealed that the university has hired his daughter and his son-in-law, shortly after he assumed the post. The chancellor also faces criticism, after being accused of moving funds to held his daughter move to the area. Montemagno says that there was a misunderstanding as to what relocation funds cover. He has since reimbursed the university those funds. University President Randy Dunn announced that ethics reviews for those hires were publicized. He says that state investigators will look into the family hiring complaint.
