A fatal traffic crash was reported on Tuesday afternoon along Illinois Route 15, .1-miles east of Raven Road and in front of 3-Way House Farms in Washington County. At 104pm, 58-year-old John Frye of Freeburg was traveling eastbound along Route 15, when it crossed the center line and struck 36-year-old Micah Rincker of Ashley. Frye unexplainably crossed into the center line and Rincker traveled into the grass to avoid the accident, but an embankment prevented him to do so. Frye was pronounced dead at the scene, after he was extracted from the vehicle. Rincker walked away from the accident with non-life-threatening injuries. Toxicology samples were taken from Mr. Frye fro routine testing and the cause of death was massive blunt force trauma. The manner of death appears to be accidental. Responding agencies included the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police Department, Nashville Fire Department, Addieville Fire Department and the Washington County Coroner’s Office. No other information will be released at this time. Illinois Route 15 was closed for approximately 3 hours.
