Nashville Community High School approved to hire a new superintendent at the board meeting on Monday, February 26th. The new superintendent will be Brad Turner, effective as of July 1st, 2018. His contract will go through the 2020-2021 school year. Mr. Turner was originally from Columbia, and has worked in education for 18 years. He has his 1st job in Northeastern Iowa, where he worked as a teacher. He then worked as a teacher at Prairie Central in Normal, before accepting his 1st position in administration. He then became the assistant principal at Southwestern High School. He also spent 3 years as the Greenville High School assistant principal, before becoming the superintendent at Mulberry Grove for the last 4 years, which is his current position. He currently lives in Greenville, but plans on moving to Nashville as soon as possible. Mr. Turner is married to his wife Stacy and have 3 boys. One will be a freshman next year, one will be in 4th grade and the other is 4 and will be in pre-k next year. He stated that he is looking forward to the job and is excited to be working in the community. His 1st day on the job as superintendent at Nashville Community High School will be on July 1st, 2018, but he plans on working with current interim superintendent Mr. Hawkins until his 1st official day.
