A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested over the weekend, for allegedly making terrorist threats, in connection with statements on social media that he was going to shoot up his grade school in rural Jefferson County. Clint Taylor, who is the Jefferson County Chief Deputy, says that his department learned of the threat on Saturday afternoon, with his department taking the threat very seriously. They then conducted an investigation following receiving the threat. By late Saturday night, deputies had taken the juvenile into custody on a Class X felony charge of making terrorist threats. The juvenile was then taken to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center, pending a 1st appearance in court. Taylor says that he wanted to make it clear that regardless of the time or day, if they hear about a possible threat, they will immediately investigate. He continued by saying that they will arrest anyone, if the evidence of wrongdoing is discovered.
