Two were arrested in Okawville on Monday, after being charged for placing a credit card skimming device on a gas station pump. 20-year-old Ernesto Martinez and 44-year-old Yosvanis Napoles-Leon, both of Louisville, Kentucky, are facing charges of unlawful use of a scanning device, identity theft and using a forged credit or debit card at the Okawville Circle K gas station. Martinez is being held on $30,000 bond, with Napoles-Leon being held on $45,000 bond. According to Okawville Police, one of the gas station’s pump had failed last week, when a maintenance worker discovered a skimming device at the pump. Police were called and they removed the device early on March 21st. A review of the station’s surveillance video showed two men installing the skimmer on March 19th. The skimmer was taken down and placed under police custody, so the two men were never able to get to the skimmer. Employees recognized the vehicle, which was a white GMC Yukon, when they called police at around 420pm on Monday.
