The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to be alert and aware of their surroundings, following two incidents that occurred on Monday. The 1st incident reportedly occurred along Anglen Road in northeastern Marion County, where a woman was reportedly attacked by a man, who said he stopped to help her. However, when she said she did not need any help from the man, he reportedly punched her in the face, attempted to remove her clothes and attempted to sexually assault her. The woman was able to escape the scene on foot and called 911 for help. The man was described as being about 60-year-9old, 6-feet tall, weighing between 250 and 300 pounds, with a white beard. He fled from the scene in a red truck, believed to be either a Chevy S-10 or a Ford Ranger. The sheriff’s office then received another call later that day from Salem High School, where a bus driver reportedly saw a man in a red Ford Ranger following the bus and watching the students get off the bus. While the man made no attempts to stop the students, the incident was reported as suspicious. Authorities are unsure if the two incidents are related to each other, but both reports were taken down. The sheriff’s office wants to urge citizens to be aware of your surroundings and keep a close eye on children. Anyone who has any additional information on either of these two incidents is asked to call the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 615-548-21-41.
