A judge refuses to lower bail on a teen, who was charged firing shots at a high school in Illinois, while seniors were meeting for their graduation rehearsal. 19-year-old Matthew Milby Jr. appeared in court on Friday, through a video, since he was at the Lee County Jail. He was denied a lowering of bail, since his current mark was at $2-million. Officers say that the teen fired several shots at Dixon High School on Wednesday, before he was shot by a school resource officers. The two exchanged gunfire. Milby’s attorney asked the court to lower his bail to $500,000, saying that his criminal record is nonexistent. The State’s Attorney responded by saying that Milby is accused of one of the most serious crimes that you can commit. Milby is a senior at the high school, which is about 100 miles west of Chicago, but he has not been attending classes towards the tail-end of the year. His next scheduled court appearance is set for Wednesday.
