A man from southern Illinois has been charged, in regard to painting swastikas on dozens of gravestones over this past Memorial Day weekend. Reports say that in addition to the swastikas on over 200 graves at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, the man allegedly painted additional swastikas on houses in Edwardsville. 34-year-old Timothy McLean of Glen Carbon also got charged with painting swastikas on 3 churches and at least 2 homes in Glen Carbon. McLean’s record goes back as far as an underage drinking violation when he was 16-years-old. Some of the other charges that he faces includes calling the Edwardsville Police Department to make racially derogatory comments, aggravated assault to an officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. McLean is also being held on $100,000 bond at the Madison County Jail.
