The Kaskaskia College board of Trustees met for a special session on Tuesday, June 5^th.  By a vote of 7 to 0, the board elected to name George Evans as the 11^th President of Kaskaskia College.  Evans has been the interim President since November, where he signed a 3-year contract to continue to guide KC.  Evans served as the College’s Dean of Career and Technical Education for 7 years prior to assuming the role as President.  Evans will now be the 1^st KC graduate to be named the College’s President.  In other action on Tuesday, trustees approved the salary adjustments for non-union and professional/managerial staff for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.  Also approved was the establishment of a Human Resources Generalist position, in order to help assist the College’s Human Resources Department.  Cory Wellen was hired as a Full-Time Assistant Professor of Welding for the upcoming fall semester.  Kevin Tenpenny also resigned as an Assistant Professor for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
