CENTRAL CITY — Motorists in Central City may have to drive a little out of their way for fuel or other purchases after the Citgo gas station closed its doors Wednesday.

According to the Central City Police Department, Illinois State Police notified them they would be conducting activities at the Citgo station Wednesday morning. Troopers were on scene from about 8:45 a.m. and were gone before noon.

Once they left the business was locked and employees were gone. Calls to Citgo went unanswered.

Messages to ISP for further details were referred to the Illinois Department of Revenue. No other details are available at this time.
