A man from Marion, who recently pled guilty to one count of forgery from an October 2017 arrest, is sentenced to 4 years at the Illinois Department of Corrections. 26-year-old Josten Denwood was located by officers back in October of 2017, after officers were having a routine street-level drug investigation. A brief pursuit occurred after they found Denwood, which he scattered several items that were on him. Of the items he attempted to get rid of, 8 were counterfeit $20 bills. Denwood will serve one year of mandatory supervised released, after he is released from prison. The investigation was handled by the Marion Police Department and Assistant State’s Attorney Becky Ray, who was leading the prosecution in the case.
